UI Design Director

Reporting to the VP of Design and part of the global design team, I am a strategic partner responsible for the global direction and consistency of user experiences and coordinating the migration of products, branding, design systems, and operations.

• Winner of the Design System Awards 2023 for Best Governance.
• Manage a cross-functional team of 13, including Product Managers, Developers, Engineers, and Designers.
• Expanded the design system team by 150%, enhancing capacity for global projects.
• Boost design system adoption from 70 to 175 products in a year through value and process alignment with brand, engineering, and design leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading the design vision for user interfaces by setting a new craft standard and establishing a visual language and principles to be implemented across 200+ applications.
• Ensuring coherence between products and transversal collaboration between product teams by deploying an award-winning design system.
• Driving organisational change by influencing senior leadership to adopt the design vision through inspirational storytelling.
• Guiding product teams to adopt a user-centric approach through actionable plans, and proactively building productive relationships across teams.
• Increasing product designers’ motivation and quality of craft by constructively guiding them through applying design guidelines and processes to deliver the best experience for their users.
• Supporting design operations through defining clear team organisation, collaboration and communication rules, creating presentation templates by the audience, and procedures to document design practices.
